Our Story
Founded in 2018 by artist Julian Vane, PaintYourWall began as a quiet rebellion against the uniformity of digital design. At a time when mass-produced prints dominated interiors, the vision was simple yet ambitious—to bring back the intimacy, imperfection, and soul of hand-painted surfaces.
What started as a small studio practice quickly evolved into something larger: a pursuit of redefining how spaces are experienced through texture, material, and human touch. Each early project became a study in patience, craft, and storytelling—laying the foundation for what we are today.
Today, we are a close-knit collective of muralists, color specialists, and fine artists working across disciplines. Our projects span continents—from private residences in London to creative studios in Tokyo—yet every piece remains deeply personal and rooted in its environment.
Our studio operates from a converted warehouse—a space that reflects our process: raw, experimental, and constantly evolving. Here, we develop custom finishes, test materials like lime-wash, mineral pigments, and metallic leafing, and refine techniques that balance tradition with contemporary expression.
Despite our growth, our philosophy remains unchanged. We believe in slowing down the process, honoring craftsmanship, and creating work that carries a sense of permanence—art that doesn't just exist within a space, but becomes part of its identity over time.
